We all know the story of the 3 little pigs, don't we? Once upon a time there were 3 little pigs, the first built a house made of straw, easy to do, but not at all resistant to the forces of the wolf. The second constructed his little house with wood, it took a bit longer, but unfortunately the wolf was too strong. The third piglet made his house of stone, it took him long to build, but is was strong enough to resist the wolf. But, something many of you don't know, there was a fourth little pig. This one was a little bit more ecologically orientated and had thoroughly observed the others. He decided to build his house with straw, wood and stones, enabling him to get the most out of all the different materials. He collected all the left-over materials from the others and began. He renovated the already existing stone building with wood and straw, created windows and doors and along the way, he decided that he would like to share his experience and this lovely building with others. He made sure the interior was comfortable and ready welcome people who would like to spend their holidays here. You're more than welcome to do so as well!
The name Paille & Pierres (Straw & Stones) refers to the main materials the cottage is made from. Apart from straw and stones we have used a lot of (local) wood and when possible ecological and recycled building materials. And the Petit Poisson Vert (the little green fish)? Come and find out yourselves!
